Avoid liquids at all costs

It’s important to start with what not to do: never use liquid-based cleaning products or water to clean your Cotton Ball Lights. Liquids can soften the glue that holds the cotton together, causing the balls to lose their shape and structure. Even sprays or damp cloths are risky, so stick to dry cleaning methods only.
You can use a slightly damp cloth just to clean the threads that connect the balls, but be careful not to get the cotton balls wet. Remember to always turn off the lights when you're cleaning them.

Best dry cleaning methods for Cotton Balls

Here are a few effective and safe methods to remove dust from your Cotton Ball Lights:

1. Microfiber clotha

Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe each Cotton Ball. This is a simple and effective way to remove dust without damaging the delicate structure of the balls - especially if you clean them regularly and don't let a thick layer of dust build up on the surface of the lights.

2. Feather Dusters

A feather duster or a similar dust cleaner is a quick way to clean your lights, extremely useful if they are hanging high up or are part of a garland.

3. Soft brush (like a dishwashing brush)

A soft-bristled brush, such as one designed for cleaning dishes, is excellent for gently dusting off dirt from the Cotton Balls. Its bristles can reach into the fibers to lift away even stubborn dust.

4. Vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment

If you clean your lights regularly, a vacuum cleaner with a special attachment (such as those designed for curtains or sofas) works wonders. This is one of the most effective methods for completely removing dust from balls! Make sure you use the vacuum at the lowest setting and hold the Cotton Balls carefully to avoid any damage.
If you don't have a special nozzle/accessory, use the vacuum cleaner tube itself - the round Cotton Balls fit perfectly with the tube. Clean the ball by applying the vacuum cleaner tube point by point and remember to adjust the suction power! It is not advisable to drag it over the ball to avoid damage.

5. Lint roller

A lint roller is surprisingly effective for cleaning Cotton Ball Lights. The adhesive surface picks up dust quickly, but be cautious not to press too hard to keep the shape of the ball. To make it easier, you can use a single piece of glue paper, taken from the lint roller - this way it will perfectly fit the shape of the ball perfectly.

How do I clean big Cotton Ball Lamps?

For larger Cotton Balls BIG Lamps or Cotton Balls BIG Cups use the same methods as described above. When cleaning a BIG Cotton Lamp, carefully separate it from the suspension. Place one hand inside the ball to support it while you clean the outer surface with the other hand. This helps maintain its round shape and prevents any distortion.

Keep them looking new

Regular maintenance is the key to keeping your Cotton Ball Lights  looking fresh. Whether you clean them once a month or every six months, a little care goes a long way in preserving their delicate beauty. Although Cotton Balls require a little more attention when cleaning, we're convinced they're worth having! Not only are they a gentle source of light for the eyes, but they are also a beautiful and unique decoration for the room - it's hard to find another type of lighting that creates such a magical atmosphere in the home!

*PATTERN TEMPLATE
You can make it by yourself cutting it in a carton box or plastic folder. Choose any shape you want or use MY TEMPLATE – it’s ready to print.
Print it, cut it, trace it onto cardboard and cut the final pattern.
As you can see on the right photo above I cut 3 shapes, but 2 would be absolutely enough.
Pattern A I was using to make a smaller shapes (inside), pattern B I was using to make a bigger shapes (outside). Pattern C I was using everywhere where I needed to draw half of the shape – next to the ceiling, floor or in the corner. It is not essential, it was just easer to fold it on half.
Ready?

STEP 1 – trace the pattern onto the wall

You can use a pencil or white crayon. Here you can see how I was using my patterns: first I traced the bigger shape (outside) and later the smaller one (inside). Maybe it doesn’t look like it, but it was really easy!

STEP 2 – follow the lines with a small paint brush

Believe me it really does not have to be perfect! Don't let the fear of imperfection stop you from doing this! Beside this – remember to make some mistakes, because no one will notice that you painted it by yourself! :D

STEP 3 – enjoy the view!

I love my new wall! It's more cozy in the room now. On this wall I plan to make a photo/poster gallery, but about this I will tell in a different post in the future.

The cable always "comes out" from the plug, on the cable – about 100 cm after the plug – the switch ON/OFF is placed followed by the light bulbs, on which we put Cotton Balls. In the end the wire "returns" to the plug. The bulbs on the cable "in loop" are arranged on a single wire. The cable "in line" is double and twisted.

Hmm... So which cable should I choose?

The answer to this question simply depends from what are your needs – what do you want to do with your wire? How will you hang it? If you, for example, want to straight the garland on the wall in the kids room or above wedding tables – for sure you can choose garland "in line".

However, if you want to make a more “compacted” composition with your Cotton Ball Lights, where the balls are not straight but more close to each other (for example inside of the glass vase, on the plate, in the basket) I would recommend you the cable "in loop". Why?
Cables "in line" have the longest wire and are the most universal – you can straight the garland, roll it or fold it on half – it will always look great. But a "longer cable" also means "more cable" – and this can be important for someone who, like me, doesn’t want to see the wire.

On the right side you have a cable "in loop" – you can see a single tread of wire between the Cotton Balls. Because of this the wire is more elastic and it is easier to hide it. On the left you can see a cable "in line" – double tread of wires between the balls. And that's all! There are no other differences. :) So, which wire would you choose?
